Flashback! A decade ago, Jarvis Rockwell’s “Maya” took over our Fitzpatrick Family Gallery in Building 4. Inspired by Hindu temples covered with sculptures of various gods, Rockwell replaced those with toys, action figures and dolls for an interesting discussion on contemporary Western culture.
Check out his more recent incarnation, “Maya IV,” on view as part of Downstreet Art in North Adams. https://www.facebook.com/JarvisRockwellsMaya#!/JarvisRockwellsMaya?sk=info
